About Ike

Ike J. Awgu, B.A., J.D., Owner

Born and raised in Ottawa, Ike grew up in the city's west end and attended Sir Robert Borden High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University where he graduated on the Dean's list before moving on to Queens University where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He was also fortunate enough to spend time studying at the National University of Singapore.

Ike's connection to the city runs deep. In 2003 at the age of 19, Ike ran for Mayor of Ottawa, finishing third in a field of eight candidates with over five thousand votes. He went on to host a national television show on the Canadian Public Affairs channel (CPAC) and has written editorial columns on legal and other issues for the Globe and Mail, the Ottawa Sun and the Huffington Post. He has appeared on the CBC, CTV, CPAC and Huffpost Live.

Ike began his career in Toronto at a large Bay street law firm and returned to his Ottawa roots in 2010. He is an enthusiastic public speaker and frequently gives presentations on various legal topics to regional landlord associations, real estate agents and student groups.
